Brønshøj Copenhagen Jazz Club: Papa Pider's Jazzband

Papa Piders Jazzband comes from Gothenburg, a six-piece ensemble with roots reaching back to the early 1960s, when they were a fixture on the city's jazz scene. The band went quiet for a period, but drummer Bo Lindgren - one of the original members - took the initiative to reunite the musicians in 2010, and many of the old members returned.

The repertoire is revival jazz in the tradition of Acker Bilk, Ken Colyer and Chris Barber, played by musicians with long experience from European stages. The evening features Anders Hultman (banjo/guitar/vocals), Pider Åvall (trombone/vocals), Klas Nilsson (trumpet/vocals), Claes Nordborg (bass/vocals), Sverker Nyström (clarinet/saxophone/vocals) and Bo Lindgren (drums).

Doors open at 19:00, and tickets are purchased at the entrance. There is an opportunity for a shared meal before the concert. The concert is supported by Copenhagen's Music Committee and the Danish Arts Foundation.
