Bryggen Synger Sammen takes place at Islands Brygge Bibliotek in Copenhagen on Wednesday 26 August 2026 at 19:00. Signe Damkjær leads this free community singing event from the piano, drawing songs from the folk high school songbook, pop, and ballads - both well-known and lesser-known pieces. Actor Peter Flyvholm serves as song host for the August date. The event at Njalsgade 15 in the historic Islands Brygge district includes stories about the background of texts and melodies, and after the interval participants can help choose the songs. Coffee and conversation are part of the evening. Signe Damkjær returns to the same library in December for another edition of Bryggen Synger Sammen.

About the venue: Islands Brygge Bibliotek

Islands Brygge Bibliotek on Njalsgade is a small public library that has occupied the same spot in the old part of the Islands Brygge neighbourhood since 1966. The single-room space houses both adult and children's sections, with shelves stocked with new titles. Beyond lending, the library runs reading clubs, author events, book cafés and regular children's activities such as storytelling and theatre. Self-service access is available every day 08:00-20:00; a health card is required outside staffed hours.
