Degrowth Festival #4 places the theme "Transtopias - from utopia to everyday" at the centre and explores how social change is already underway through new communities, alternative economies and regenerative practices.

The programme consists of talks, workshops and conversations that challenge established ideas about growth, democracy and community. Artistic contributions are part of the programme and invite reflection on the possibilities of the future.

Degrowth Festival is a public festival about ecological economics and caring communities, where theory, practice, art and activism meet. Throughout the day there is an opportunity to continue conversations over vegan meals and meet others interested in sustainable transformation and social change.

About the venue: Islands Brygge Bibliotek

Islands Brygge Bibliotek on Njalsgade is a small public library that has occupied the same spot in the old part of the Islands Brygge neighbourhood since 1966. The single-room space houses both adult and children's sections, with shelves stocked with new titles. Beyond lending, the library runs reading clubs, author events, book cafés and regular children's activities such as storytelling and theatre. Self-service access is available every day 08:00-20:00; a health card is required outside staffed hours.
