Learn to Create Ceramics from Idea to Form with Manuel Canu

Manuel Canu teaches this 10-week ceramics course organized around concrete projects rather than isolated exercises. Participants build complete objects from scratch - bowls, vases, sculptures, and decorative pieces - and learn techniques such as coil building, slab construction, press molding, and kurinuki.

Each session starts with a project, and Manuel presents objects, images, and visual references to help each participant find their own formal language. The course follows the entire process: from sketch and construction through glazing and firing.

The course is open to both beginners and more experienced participants - instruction is tailored to each person's level and pace. If you have taken Manuel Canu's classes before, you can continue where you left off. Part of the course's approach emphasizes conscious use of materials and energy, with an emphasis on quality and focus.

Manuel Canu is a ceramicist with many years of experience in sculptural ceramics and has exhibited internationally. He runs a ceramics workshop and gallery in Copenhagen together with other artists. The course fee covers instruction and materials; participants are expected to help with cleaning and maintaining the workshop.
