Author Rasmus Daugbjerg and the guitar duo Yngel have created the cross-aesthetic work "Ulykkens Mønt" - a performance that blends sounds, stories and songs with dread and mystery.

Rasmus Daugbjerg is a graduate of the Danish Writers' School and has published the novels "Rygtet" (2021), "Trold" (2022) and "Rasmus Nielsøn" (2026). He has received, among other awards, the Arts Foundation's three-year work grant, the Michael Strunge Prize and the Mare Kandre Prize, and his books have been translated into several languages. Yngel works with a broad spectrum of guitar techniques - from melodic lines to extended improvisations and soundscapes.

The performance takes place at the Sydhavn Literature Festival at Café Karen in Copenhagen.

About the venue: Café Karen

Café Karen is the ground-floor café at Karens Minde Kulturhus in the Sydhavn district of Copenhagen. The kitchen works from scratch with around 80% organic ingredients, drawing on both Danish classics and international cooking. Every Thursday the café hosts a communal dinner open to all, and it also serves as the social hub for the cultural centre's events programme. Regulars range from families with young children to students and long-time locals.

Rasmus Daugbjerg writes novels that fold the climate crisis into an archaic, dreamlike world of trolls, mermaids and folk-tale logic. His three books have earned him prizes including the Michael Strunge Prize and the inaugural Majprisen, and an English-language edition is due from Penguin Press in 2027.
