Debut Fest: Reflections
Kildevæld Kulturcenter, Copenhagen · Free
The Reflections series consists of digital paintings rooted in the botanical world - filtered through the artist's own memories, optical tools, and painting software she has coded herself. Each image contains 100-150 thousand individual brush strokes and is densely packed with details: flowers and plants, animal figures, stylized faces, cultural symbols, and abstract forms. The works unfold gradually - the longer you look, the more emerges.
Thematically, the project revolves around growth, the preservation of life, and art's relationship to the personal. The starting point is simple: a seed's potential to become an entire botanical world.
BioIris Sylv is a post-digital impressionist with a background in engineering. She was born in Bulgaria, educated in Germany, and lives in Kongens Lyngby. Her artistic practice is self-taught, and she describes her field as computational herbalism - a cross between nature and constructed systems. Follow the artist on Instagram: @iris_sylv
