Embroidery Salon — Islands Brygge Bibliotek, Copenhagen

The Embroidery Salon is a shared space for needlework and creative focus - no prior experience required. People gather across skill levels, share experiences, and learn from each other. You are welcome to bring your own embroidery projects and materials.

Entry is 40 kr. with advance booking on billetto.dk and includes fabric, thread, and needle as well as coffee if you bring your own cup.

The salon is facilitated by Julie Andkjær Olsen, who works as a musician, dancer, and visual artist. In 2012 she published the book 'have og helvede' together with her sister, which combines embroidery, collage, and watercolor.

Autumn dates: 29 September, 27 October, and 24 November, all 18:30-21:00.

About the venue: Islands Brygge Bibliotek

Islands Brygge Bibliotek on Njalsgade is a small public library that has occupied the same spot in the old part of the Islands Brygge neighbourhood since 1966. The single-room space houses both adult and children's sections, with shelves stocked with new titles. Beyond lending, the library runs reading clubs, author events, book cafés and regular children's activities such as storytelling and theatre. Self-service access is available every day 08:00-20:00; a health card is required outside staffed hours.
