Street Theatre: Sound of Sewing
Free entry. Denmark's International Street Theatre Festival returns to Sønderborg with six performances.
In SOUND OF SEWING, Karin Arts and Mariken Biegman-van Geel set up a theatre sewing workshop in the middle of the public space, where recycling, performance art and humour meet. Since 2003, the two artists have toured the world with bicycles, antique sewing machines and a performance universe that directly involves the audience. Everyone is welcome to bring old clothes that are transformed into personal artworks - free of charge. All they need is a pair of legs to pedal the old machines.
The performance connects to the UN's Sustainable Development Goal 12 on responsible consumption and production, with a focus on recycling and upcycling.
No tickets - just show up.
