Beethoven's Eroica and Liszt

In 2027, it is 200 years since Beethoven's death, and the Sønderjylland Symphony Orchestra marks the jubilee with his music throughout the season. This concert opens with J. Lopez's Fiesta and then presents two of the repertoire's heavyweight works.

Liszt's Piano Concerto No. 2 is performed by young pianist Eva Gevorgyan, who has won numerous awards and will make her debut in the 2025/26 season with the Göttinger Symphonieorchester, Brussels Philharmonic, New Jersey Symphony and Auckland Symphony Orchestra.

The evening's main work is Beethoven's Symphony No. 3, Eroica. Hornist Jeppe Solløs Rasmussen describes it as "a classic of the highest order - full of life and vitality" and emphasizes that the horn parts are so brilliantly written that it is a symphony one looks forward to playing every single time.
