Author Talk: Maria Hesselager on 'In My House'

With 'I mit hus', Maria Hesselager has written a novel that moves between realism and mysterious thriller, everyday life and dream, the comic and the fragile serious. The story centres on three women connected to the same man - and especially on one woman's attempt to find her footing again after a broken love affair. Everything unfolds at a remote house on a spit of land, where love, jealousy, longing and power dynamics intertwine. The novel has been praised by critics and shortlisted for the DR Novel Prize 2027.

Literature mediator Lea Fløe Christensen talks with Hesselager about the book. Maria Hesselager (b. 1984) is an author and translator, educated from the Writers' School in 2014 and holds an MA in Literary Studies from the University of Copenhagen - she made her debut with 'Jeg hedder Folkví'. Lea Fløe Christensen is herself the author of 'En mand med en ged på side 251' about reading taste and reading life.

The event takes place in the Othello room on the 1st floor, Christianshavn Library, Dronningensgade 53, 1420 Copenhagen K. The nearest metro is Christianshavn Station (M1/M2), about 5 minutes' walk via Dronningensgade, and by bus you get off at Christianshavn Torv - also about 5 minutes.
