Join us on a guided walk through Nørreskoven forest on Als, where we focus on the biology of fallow deer and hope to hear the stags rutting. The fallow deer is one of Denmark's largest land mammals, and during the rutting season the males compete fiercely for territory and the attention of females.

The walk concludes with refreshments.

About the venue: Nordals Naturskole

Nordals Naturskole occupies a converted barn building near Sjelleruphus in Nørreskoven on the island of Als - a 740-hectare forest stretching down to the Little Belt, with deciduous woodland, bogs, beaches and ancient monuments. The nature school offers guided outdoor activities for children and adults led by nature guides from Sønderborg Municipality, and houses a collection of taxidermied animals, wall paintings and teaching materials. Outside there is an obstacle trail, a large shelter called Den grønne diamant, a tipi area and an outdoor classroom known as Jagtstuen by the water's edge.
