Exhibition: Dorte's Decoupage

Opening reception: Tuesday, June 9, 1-2 p.m. with coffee and the opportunity to meet artist Dorte Kofoed. Everyone is welcome at Bibliotekshuset on Rodosvej.

The exhibition showcases decoupage works by Dorte Kofoed from Amager. Decoupage dates back to the 15th century - the word comes from the French découper, meaning to cut and trim. Dorte's symbolic language draws on Dadaism and Surrealism: she works with humor and joy, but many of her works address contemporary challenges. War and climate are unavoidable themes.

Both the cheerful and darker motifs are deliberately left open to the viewer's own interpretations - the images have no titles. The starting point is that each of us encounters the works with our own personal life experience.
