A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon moves in front of the Sun in the sky. On August 12, 2026, the eclipse will be total in East Greenland, Iceland, and Spain - in Denmark, 80-86% of the Sun's disk will be covered by the Moon, which is called a partial solar eclipse. The next time we experience such a strong eclipse here at home is in 2048.

About the venue: Gellerup Bibliotek

Gellerup Bibliotek opened in December 2021 as part of the Sports- og Kulturcampus on Karen Blixens Boulevard in the Gellerupparken district. It operates as an open community centre where volunteers, local associations and staff jointly run activities ranging from creative workshops and a parents' café to communal singing and a makerspace. In 2022 it was nominated for the title of best public library of the year.
