Being a Caregiver to Someone with Mental Illness
Trekanten - Bibliotek og Kulturhus, Aalborg
One in three Danes is a caregiver to someone with a mental illness. Standing close to a person whose life is marked by psychological suffering can be mentally taxing - worries accumulate, confusion takes over, and many sit alone with their pain, whether they are trying to help or feel trapped in helplessness.
This lecture offers concrete mental tools for the demanding caregiver role. Key questions include: How do I set boundaries and take care of myself to avoid burnout? And where can I find advice and support for my own everyday life as a caregiver?
The speaker is Jørn Henrik Olsen, cand.theol., ph.d. and author. Trekanten Cafe offers the opportunity to eat and buy refreshments.
