Description was written before the event

Johan Bylling Lang meets Chris Copen at Drop Inn on Kompagnistræde on Sunday 27 September 2026 for a funky jazz evening featuring soul, blues and R'n'B classics from New Orleans. The two musicians, who have been central figures in Copenhagen's blues and jazz scene for a decade, present material from their own releases alongside standards from the New Orleans catalogue, joined by players from local jazz bands including Jazz Five and Tuesday Night Brass Band. Drop Inn opened in 1934 as a restaurant with cabaret entertainment and quickly became a haven for jazz enthusiasts, bohemians and artists. This concert is one of two Danish dates for Lang this season.

About the venue: Drop inn

Drop Inn on Kompagnistræde opened in 1934 as a restaurant with cabaret entertainment, soon nicknamed "Den røde ged" (The Red Goat) by Danish veterans of the Spanish Civil War. It became a refuge for jazz-loving bohemians, musicians and artists. Today it is an intimate live music venue with a near-floor-level stage, covering jazz, blues, rock and soul, with regular Jam Nights and a prominent role in the Copenhagen Jazz Festival.
