Embroidery by Prescription

Embroidery and neuroscience meet in this two-hour workshop at Biblioteket i Herning. Embroiderer Trine Runge Jessen teaches cross-stitch while doctor Lærke Egefjord explains what happens in the body and brain during creative work - including how handcraft can counteract stress and ease symptoms of anxiety, depression, and restlessness.

The focus is on the process rather than the result, and theory and practice alternate throughout. All participants receive a beginner embroidery kit to take home as part of the 100 kr. ticket price. Tickets are purchased at Biblioteket i Herning.

The workshop takes place in room ABC and is open to everyone. It serves as a prelude to Sammen om sundhed, 2027, which focuses on women's mental and physical health.
