ULVEMÆLK. Author Lecture by Charlotte Weitze

Charlotte Weitze (born 1974, Kgs. Lyngby) holds a degree in folklore studies and has written short stories, novels, and radio plays. She has received numerous awards including the Forum for Books Debut Prize and a three-year work grant from the Danish Arts Foundation, and her books have been translated into several languages.

As an author, she moves in the borderland between everyday realism and fairy tale - with glimmering hope, dark undercurrents, and a nature that cannot be ignored. This was evident in her novels The Abominable (2016) and Rosarium (2021), which Berlingske gave six stars: "A formidable novel and precise as its cover: lush, wild, dark and magical. Wow - I cannot remember reading anything like it before ... Rosarium is botany on LSD ... Charlotte Weitze establishes with Rosarium that she is one of our greatest international talents."

In 2025, Ulvemælk was published, which revolves around the folklore collector Evald Tang Kristensen. Politiken gave it five hearts: "Ulvemælk blends insight with suspense, and one must not forget Weitze's soulful prose, which makes the heart skip a beat."
