__PLEX

In __PLEX, choreographer Alma Toaspern explores the sensory and emotional intensity of pop culture. Inspired by John Oswald's visionary album Plexure (1993), a collage of over 1,000 pop hits, the work translates sound fragments into movement, rhythm, and presence. Through the body, it examines how we navigate an era marked by constant media noise, algorithmic remix culture, and fleeting impulses. Powerful, humorous, and overwhelming, each gesture seeks to create meaning amid overstimulation - a glimpse of clarity in chaos. As a site-specific work, __PLEX adapts to its space - from theatres to galleries and public venues, allowing each location to color both mood and sensation. The performance is presented in collaboration with DYNAMO.
