Horror Vacui is a five-piece post-punk/death-rock band from Bologna, Italy, formed in 2011 by singer Koppa. They emerged during the first wave of the modern post-punk revival alongside underground bands like The Estranged, Spectres, and Belgrado. All five members are active in the DIY punk and underground scene and involved in other ongoing projects (Marthe, Vespertina, Morgana, and Allerta!).

Since forming, Horror Vacui has toured extensively across Europe (2012, 2013, 2015, 2018), the U.S. (2014, 2017), Mexico, Colombia (2019), and England (2024). Following the pandemic and a lineup change, the band has just completed recording their fifth full-length album, slated for release in 2025. They have shared the stage with The Chameleons, She Past Away, Molchat Doma, Belgrado, Sect, Spectres, The Bellicose Minds, Sunn O))), Drab Majesty, Lydia Lunch, TSOL, Christian Death, Goblin, Lathe Of Heaven, Messa, and more.

Horror Vacui blends early 80s goth with post-punk in a horror-tinged sound. Their name reflects a signature style built on tight, guitar-driven songs, sing-along hooks, and vocal lines many of which have become modern goth anthems like "In Darkness You Will Feel Alright". Fans of Corpus Delicti, Sisters of Mercy, Christian Death, and Killing Joke will find familiar ground, but their catalog reaches far beyond nostalgia. Their lyrics explore identity, darkness, society, and the human psyche with a raw, punk-rooted urgency that defines their live presence and political ethos.
