Filt et skind
Hedestrik, Copenhagen · 450–500 kr. · ≈ 60–67 €
Learn wet felting and create your own plant-based sheepskin at this workshop. Wet felting is a wonderful process using water, soap, and carded wool to make almost anything. You'll felt carded wool onto the back of continuous pieces of fleece (a fleece = one complete shorn sheep), creating a sheepskin-like surface on one side and a felted surface on the other. It's simple and everyone can participate.
Your finished piece can be used as a seat cushion, taken on trips, or placed on your favorite chair. During the workshop, we'll discuss the heath, wool, plant dyes, and the Hedestrik project. You'll learn the basic principles of wet felting and gain an understanding of working with raw wool.
Hedestrik focuses on the Nordic wool that lies unused as a byproduct from Nordic sheep farmers. We'll talk about wool from a climate perspective and which wool you can choose. We embrace dogma-free and rule-free approaches as a response to the commercial yarn and knitting world. For more about felting and knitting, find us on Instagram @hedestrik. Tickets are non-refundable.
