STANDARD TIME in Løkken
Løkken Strand, Løkken · 0 kr.
Become part of an artwork where time exists only if people keep it going. As a special part of Løkken Molefestival 2026, you can experience and participate in Standard Time, an internationally recognized 24-hour performance work that transforms Løkken Strand into a living clock built by people. In Standard Time, the 24 hours of the day are created physically, minute by minute, using large numbers, human effort, and community. There are no motors, no electronics, and no automation. Time is kept going solely by people who together create the work throughout an entire day. This makes Standard Time much more than an art installation. It is a shared experience where art, collaboration, and presence merge into one living work on the beach.
Only once in Løkken. Standard Time has been shown at major cultural and festival events before, but is visiting Løkken Molefestival 2026 for the first and currently only time. With the North Sea as a backdrop and Løkken Strand as the stage, audiences have the opportunity to experience the work in completely unique surroundings.
When time depends on people. The special thing about Standard Time is that the work cannot exist without participants. If people stop - time stops. Therefore, citizens, summer guests, families, businesses, associations, clubs, and volunteers are invited to become an active part of the work. Whether you participate for one hour or several hours, you are helping to keep time going.
Everyone can participate. You don't need artistic experience or special qualifications to take part. Everyone is welcome: individuals, families, friend groups, summer guests, associations, businesses, clubs, and communities. Children from 12 years old can participate with an adult. The most important thing is the desire to be part of a unique and memorable experience where community and collaboration are essential.
The Timekeepers' Camp. To keep time going around the clock, the Timekeepers' Camp is established, which becomes the heart of Standard Time. Here participants can meet, eat, and rest.
