Intro to Faces - Crack the Code Aarhus
Gågaden v. Salling,, Aarhus · 3650 kr. · ≈ 488 €
Learn to draw faces from scratch. Do you find drawing faces intimidating? You're not alone. Faces are the most recognizable thing in the world, which is why we're quick to spot when something looks "off" or "wrong". And when you draw other people, they tend to have opinions about the result too. That's why many people avoid faces, hold back, and wait until they can do it "perfectly".
Where do you start? I know how challenging it feels to put a line on paper and try to capture something as alive as a human face. You can almost hear the inner critic: "What if it turns out ugly?", "I'll never be good at this", "I can't draw noses at all!" or "What am I doing?". But on this course, we set all that aside and send the inner critic on a very long walk.
I'll show you how to break faces down into simple shapes so it doesn't feel overwhelming. We'll explore how to show expression and emotion. We'll play with asymmetry and how to break the rules, because that's where personality and charm live. Like my other courses, we work quickly and freely so you don't have time to overthink every line. We create a safe space where we can practice together and on each other. You'll discover that faces don't have to be scary to draw, and you'll leave hopefully with plenty of courage to keep going - and maybe with a new love for slightly wonky faces.
This is a beginner course. No prior experience required. It's for anyone who wants to learn the essential basics of understanding how a face is constructed - in a simple and manageable way. I'll guide you, encourage you, and challenge you as needed. Remember: with me, you can't do anything wrong.
Time: 9:00 to 15:30. We pack up at 15:15. Note: the room is needed for another event in the evening, so it's important we leave on time.
