Kasper - Gadens Stemmer

At a New Year's party, my schizophrenia breaks out, and I flee the celebration, eventually ending up at the train station in Odense, where my mother picks me up. What do I talk about? I end up telling the story of my youth in Nyborg, marked by cannabis abuse, how I isolated myself and eventually couldn't even have a conversation with my own mother. I share everything about my diagnosis - how it emerged, my hospitalization and treatment, and how things are today. I hope my story can help provide insight and perhaps break the stigma surrounding schizophrenia, and in that way hopefully help someone.

This is a personal account of living with mental illness, recovery, and the journey toward acceptance.
