I Am Not Done With You - Glenn Bech in Conversation on Relationships, Class and Receiving Love
Hovedbiblioteket, Odense · 75–100 kr. · ≈ 10–13 €
Glenn Bech meets librarian Michael Linde Larsen at Odense Main Library for a conversation about his novel 'I'm Not Done with You' (2025). The book follows Lasse as he tries to reconcile a turbulent childhood with a present-day relationship with the generous Emil - and asks what happens when one person has learned to see care as a battleground and love as something dangerous.
The conversation centres on communicating honestly and vulnerably when signs of weakness were once met with mockery and humiliation. The themes are the same Bech has worked with since his debut: toxic masculinity, class divisions, sexuality, abuse and inferiority - but now in a more traditional novel form.
Glenn Bech made his debut in 2021 with the autofictional memoir 'Farskibet', which received the Blixen Prize 2022 as 'Novel of the Year' and the Munch-Christensen Cultural Grant, and was shortlisted for the Book Forum Debut Prize and nominated for the Weekend Post's Literature Prize. In 2022 he published the manifesto 'I No Longer Recognize Your Authority', which in 2023 won him the Politiken Literature Prize. Bech was born in Horsens in 1991, studied psychology at Aarhus University and graduated from the Danish Writers' School in 2019.
The event takes place on the Stage on the 2nd floor.
