Music Lecture on Kate Bush

In 1978, Kate Bush debuted at age 19 with "Wuthering Heights" and immediately stood out from the punk and rock scene of the time with her distinctive voice and mysterious stage presence. Since then, she has experienced a new wave of attention through TikTok and streaming.

Thomas Ulrik Larsen focuses on her first three albums - The Kick Inside, Lionheart and Never Forever - and draws a portrait of an unusual talent whose career was launched through an early collaboration with David Gilmour from Pink Floyd. The lecture also explores why she remained an enigmatic figure: she performed live rarely and deliberately stayed in the background.

Thomas Ulrik Larsen holds a degree in musicology and education and works as a musician, writer and lecturer. Since 2012, he has given around 400 lectures primarily on 1970s and 1980s English rock, with particular emphasis on art rock and prog-rock.
