At the end of the world sits a man. His name is Tom, and he is alone. Why is he? Why isn't he with his family, his friends, his pets? Where has he been, where is he going, if he's going anywhere at all? He waits. Waiting to be picked up. Up in the tower, they had said over the radio that they had engine trouble, but that he should be ready. "We're coming," they said. But they couldn't say when. Maybe it ends here? Will they be able to make it all the way out to the End of the World? How the hell did he end up here? How could it happen? What if they don't come? Tom thinks back. All the way back to the beginning.
