Queer Reading Club

Queer Reading Club is a collaboration between Odense Libraries and Odense Pride. A trained reading guide presents text excerpts and leads the reading aloud, while a safety guide from Odense Pride helps clarify concepts. Each meeting begins with an introduction round where participants, materials, and relevant LGBTQ+ concepts are introduced, so the conversation is grounded in shared understanding.

The text excerpts are the focal point - participants share their experience of the text and do not act as representatives of particular beliefs or orientations.

Each meeting requires a minimum of 5 and maximum of 12 participants (excluding guides). Registration is via free tickets on the library's website. It is possible to request content warnings - for example about sexual themes or phobias - by email to the event coordinator at tilch@odense.dk.
