Theme Club: "The Country That Disappeared" - Recent Novels from East Germany

On November 9, 1989, the wall between East and West Germany fell - the Iron Curtain that for nearly 30 years had divided Berlin into an eastern and western zone. The fall of the wall sparked great enthusiasm, but everyday life afterwards was not without friction: the different mentalities of East and West Germans could not always be reconciled. In this theme club, we read recent novels that revolve around the former East Germany and its aftermath.

The club meets five times:
• September 17, 2026, 4:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
• October 22, 2026, 4:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
• December 3, 2026, 4:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
• January 7, 2027, 4:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
• February 11, 2027, 4:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
