TALKS ABOUT KNITTING - knitting talk show at Pakhusstrik 2026 — Nordatlantens Brygge, Copenhagen

The talk show "Conversations About Knitting" is part of the knitting festival Pakhusstrik 2026 at Nordatlantens Brygge. The programme features talks on micro-spineries and sustainable wool, plus musical performances from Icelandic singer-songwriter Anna Hansen.

"Wool as a Resource in a Sustainable Society" focuses on micro-spineries' work with quality and craftsmanship. Sheila Simonsen from the Faroese micro-spinnery KYRRA shares how she transforms 100% Faroese wool into soft quality yarn with respect for the material and local traditions. Pia Heike Johansen, founder of Det Vilde Spinderi in Odsherred, talks about her spinnery, created with the desire to give new life to local wool that would otherwise go to waste - and about connecting sheep farmers, designers and craftspeople.

Jan Mikkel Nyonyintono has quickly become a notable name on the knitting scene with his colourful freehand knitting. In his talk, he shares thoughts on creativity, inspiration and making with your hands. Sæthor Kristínsson, winner of The Great Bake-Off 2021, has since turned to handicrafts - here we focus on what drives him in the creative process.

Musical performances by Anna Hansen (IS): the Copenhagen-based Icelandic artist combines Nordic pop and 90s country in songs written in collaboration with songwriters from Nashville.
