The Magic of the Northern Lights / Planetarium Show LIVE
Det magiske nordlys / Planetarieshow LIVE, Copenhagen · 180–225 kr. · ≈ 24–30 €
The Magic Northern Lights is a live planetarium show in the Planetarium's dome hall, where presenters guide the audience through the origins of the northern lights and the best conditions for viewing them.
The programme is divided into two parts with a break in between. The first part (19:15) covers northern lights on Earth - how the phenomenon occurs and where it can best be seen. After a break from 19:55, where there is an opportunity to ask informal questions, the second part continues from 20:15 with a journey through the solar system, including a look at solar flares and auroras on other planets, plus practical tips for observing the northern lights yourself. From 20:55 there is a group Q&A and closing, and the show ends at 21:15.
Under the dome, 8K visualisations of the starry sky, landscapes, solar flares and northern lights are displayed - based on data from satellites and telescopes around the world.
Your ticket also gives you access to the Planetarium's exhibitions, workshops and Science Shows on the same day. Check the day's programme on the website before you arrive.
