City Walk: Resistance, German Terror and Fates on Nørrebro 1944-45 — Politimuseet, Copenhagen

Nørrebro's streets hold many violent stories from the occupation years. On this walking tour, a guide from the Police Museum takes you around and brings to life the places where history unfolded.

The tour focuses on 1944-1945 and covers the police internment on 19 September 1944, the police-free period that followed, German counter-terror, the general strike, and informant liquidations. Along the way, the guide shares specific fates and events - including the arrest of resistance fighter Citronen and the day when approximately 2,000 police officers were interned and sent to German concentration camps and prisoner-of-war camps.

The tour starts at the Police Museum and ends near Dronning Louises Bridge, from where you can follow the guide back. The total route is just under 2 km. On the same day, the museum can be visited during normal opening hours - admission is included in the price.
