Requiem for Papir - Performance Installation

Requiem for Papir? is a performance installation created by GribGruppen - three artists from Gilleleje: stage artist Helene Kvint, scenographer Filippa Berglund, and musician and composer Birgit Løkke. The group works with installations, music-drama, and cross-aesthetic approaches rooted in everyday narratives and local life.

The installation gathers an archive of books, postcards, dress-up dolls, and much more in a sensory universe where personal stories become universal through recognizable elements of everyday paper. The question posed is whether this is paper's requiem - paper's final song.

Requiem for Papir? premiered at Anne Vilsbøll's Papir Akademiet in Gilleleje in July 2025 and was produced with support from the Danish Arts Foundation. What is presented in the glass house at Munkeruphus in September 2026 is an excerpt from this work.
