ODENSE AGORA: THE TRUTH IS DEAD AND REALITY IS A DESERT

This talk explores the development of modern mentality since the Enlightenment and offers intellectual-historical answers to why lifestyle, identity, gender, media, and self-realization have come to the fore - and why, at the same time, we have failed to halt the ecological crisis, the global acceleration of competition, and the political shift to the right. The talk is a tour de force through major thinkers' perspectives on what characterizes modern and postmodern society.

The event is part of Odense Agora, a collaboration between Dolphin Philosophy and Teater Momentum. The name is drawn from the central square in ancient Greek city-states - the agora - where citizens gathered to debate politics, philosophy, and common concerns, and where new ideas were exchanged with travelers. With this reference, the two parties revive a tradition of open, public conversation through a series of talks at the theatre.
