Green Tea Bitches + Ponny
Stairway, Copenhagen · 100–150 kr. · ≈ 13–20 €
Green Tea Bitches and Ponny meet for a double concert at Stairway in a floor show format, with both bands playing in the middle of the floor surrounded by the audience. The musical style is hyperpop, punk and dancepunk.
Ponny is a trio of Laura, Anna and Asta who blend Riot grrrl, teenage pop and anti-folk with humour and seriousness. Their lyrics circle around idiots, bad sex and wildness - delivered with wailing guitar, fast bass and drums. They make no apologies for themselves.
Green Tea Bitches (DK/CN) is a Chinese-Danish dancepunk duo that celebrates everything colourful, glittery and awkward. The sound is energetic, danceable and slightly silly - think Talking Heads, Charli XCX and Wet Leg in a shared circus. The duo has performed at SHARPE Festival in Slovakia and SPOT Festival in Denmark, and CLASH described their concert as "endless energy", noting that they left "the warm, bouncing room nearly speechless".
Entry: 150 kr. // Students 100 kr. Doors: 19:00, show: 20:00. Stairway, Lindehøjen 12, 2720 Vanløse.
The concert is part of Musikcaféens programme and takes place at Stairway while HUSET is undergoing renovation.
