Painting Techniques Workshop
Munkeruphus, Dronningmoelle · 0 kr.
A painting workshop on Saturday, 3 October 2026, 11:00-16:00 at Munkeruphus, Munkerup Strandvej 78, 3120 Dronningmølle.
The workshop is led by Erik Peitersen - a trained sign painter, self-taught artist, lecturer, and set designer for several Danish TV series who has also appeared in various DR programmes. He introduces participants to classical painting techniques, pigments, dry colours, and traditional binders. The day focuses on material understanding and craftsmanship, with opportunities to work with marbling, floral motifs, monochrome colours, texture, and glazing. Participants also gain insight into priming, gesso/chalk preparation, casein, egg-oil tempera, and beer glaze, and throughout the day experiences are shared about the differences between pigments and ready-made products.
Participants should bring suitable brushes and a painting surface - for example a masonite board approximately 40 x 60 cm, cardboard, canvas, a wooden box, a small piece of furniture, or similar. The surface should be prepared and primed with white acrylic primer or equivalent. The workshop provides specialist brushes, pigments, casein powder, champagne chalk, bone glue for gesso, and linseed oil varnish.
Price: 280 kr. including instruction, materials, and entry to the exhibition. Lunch can be purchased at the café.
