Celebration of 100 Years of Danish Jazz

Holbæk Jazzklub invites you to an evening focused on the early days of jazz in Denmark. The audience is encouraged to bring their own vinyl records and 78s and share stories about old Danish jazz - it will also be possible to play audio files. The evening opens with a short presentation about the origins of jazz and its significance in Denmark, exploring questions such as: What music came through the speakers in the era of vinyl records? What did the spread of jazz records mean for jazz's development across the country?

The event is part of the "Danish Jazz 100 Years" project, which Jazz Danmark has launched to ensure Danish jazz history's status as cultural heritage - and which points towards a major celebration of the centenary of Danish jazz in 2026.
