Mushroom Foraging Tour in Gribskov (Nødebo)
Skovskolen, Fredensborg · 100–350 kr. · ≈ 13–47 €
Biologist and foraging expert Klara Rask from Vilde Råvarer guides this tour through Gribskov, one of Denmark's most mushroom-rich forests, resembling Sweden in both appearance and species diversity. You may encounter Common Chanterelle, Funnel Chanterelle, Porcini, and other edible mushrooms.
The tour begins with an introduction and continues as a forest walk, where Klara explains the mushrooms you find: season, habitat, identifying features, and toxic look-alikes. At the end, you'll receive tips on preparation, and all baskets are checked for "stowaways". The tour lasts 2-3 hours and ends at the starting point.
Children aged 5-13 are welcome with a child ticket at 100 DKK. The tour is not suitable for pushchairs. Bring practical shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, a mushroom basket, and a small sharp knife - basket and knife can be purchased with your ticket.
Meeting point: Car park at Skovskolen, Nødebovej 77A, 3480 Fredensborg. This is a course designed to prepare participants for future mushroom foraging. Mushrooms are always present, but there is no guarantee of a full basket. In case of severe drought, the tour may be cancelled or rescheduled with the option of a refund (excluding fees).
