Kennet - Voices from the Street

Kennet grew up with abuse and neglect that no one believed. The inner conflict - was something wrong with him? - became the starting point for a long flight from himself.

In his early twenties, he trained as a car mechanic and later as a vision inspector, but weekends were spent in Copenhagen's techno scene, where he quickly found his footing in drugs and later in selling them. The criminal world gradually pulled him further away from normal life. When the job disappeared, he surrendered fully to crime - organized, brutal, and constantly looking over his shoulder. To keep his nerves steady, he took more and more: benzodiazepines, opioids, alcohol. Seven years in prison pushed him further to the edge rather than pulling him back, according to him. In the end, he was more of an addict than a criminal, with a worn-out nervous system and repeated admissions to psychiatric wards.

A phone call and a near-death experience set the turning point in motion. For the first time, he began to feel and hold his own emotions.

Today, Kennet tells his story through Voices from the Street - about what 27 years of addiction and crime do to a person, and about how change is possible, even when hope seems gone.
