Mendelssohn Paulus

Mendelssohn's romantic oratorio Paul is performed on Sunday, 25 October 2026 at 3 p.m. in Store Magleby Church in Dragør. Katinka Bohse Meyer appears as soloist alongside Gustav Wenzel Most and Teit Kanstrup, with the Copenhagen Chamber Choir and Orchestra conducted by Torben H.S. Svendsen. Store Magleby Church is a medieval village church from the 16th century, located in the centre of the old Dutch colonial settlement near Dragør, and is closely connected to the Dutch immigrants who settled in the area in the 1500s. Mendelssohn's oratorio traces Paul's dramatic life through choral, solo and orchestral passages, including the well-known choral sequence "Mache dich auf". Katinka Bohse Meyer performs at two Danish concerts - this one in Dragør and on 28 October at Helligaands Church in Copenhagen. Admission 100-150 kr.
