The Traumatized Mind - with Thure Lindhardt and Karen-Inge Karstoft — Hovedbiblioteket, Aarhus

Trauma has become a central concept in public discourse, moving from psychology into everyday language where it is used to understand everything from personal crises to collective reactions. But what exactly is trauma, how do traumatic reactions manifest, and is it inevitable that shocking experiences leave lasting marks?

Psychology professor Karen-Inge Karstoft and actor Thure Lindhardt meet for a conversation about trauma, vulnerability, and human resilience. Karstoft draws on the latest trauma research to explain why some people develop long-lasting reactions while others prove more resilient than they expected. Lindhardt brings a lived perspective through his work with the PTSD-affected Jeppe in Christian Lollikes's current interpretation of "Jeppe on the Mountain" at Aarhus Theatre.

The conversation is moderated by Noa Kjærsgaard Hansen and takes place in Lille Sal at Hovedbiblioteket. The event is part of Folkeuniversitetet's knowledge festival Hearts & Minds.
