Agnes Henningsen (1868-1962) was a Danish author and public voice who argued openly for sexual freedom at a time when that was deeply controversial. Her writing spans fiction and memoir, and her eight-volume autobiography published between 1941 and 1955 is considered her central achievement. Along with Karen Blixen, she was one of only two women to be a founding member of Det Danske Akademi in 1960.
