About
Anne Linnet (born 30 July 1953 in Aarhus) is a Danish singer, songwriter and composer who has shaped Danish popular music since the early 1970s. Trained at the Jutland Music Conservatory, she led the all-female rock band Shit & Chanel, fronted Anne Linnet Band alongside Sanne Salomonsen and Lis Sørensen, and later headed Marquis de Sade - all while releasing more than 20 solo albums. Songs such as "Tusind stykker" and "Barndommens gade" have become fixtures of the shared Danish songbook, and in 2008 she received the Honorary Award at the Danish Music Awards.
