Ask Slotø: Prof. Arne Lykke Larsen - Danish Physics Breakthrough on the Way!
Physicist Arne Lykke Larsen presents his work on one of physics' greatest unsolved paradoxes at Solvognen in Odense.
Arne Lykke Larsen is an associate professor of theoretical high-energy physics at the University of Southern Denmark in Odense, where his research covers string theory, black holes and cosmology. Diagnosed with ALS in 2000, he communicates entirely through eye-tracking software and speech synthesis - one of the first people in Denmark to do so. Widely nicknamed 'the Danish Hawking', he nonetheless disagrees with Hawking on the origin of the universe, holding that it has always existed. Alongside his academic work he gives public lectures and has published three books.
Arne Lykke Larsen served as a peer reviewer for international physics journals in spring 2024, most recently on May 22, 2024.
On November 30, 2023, Arne Lykke Larsen's third book, 'My American Dream', was published, based on 65 letters written home to his parents during his stay at University of Alberta from 1995 to 1999.
Arne Lykke Larsen published a scientific article in the renowned journal Nuclear Physics B in November 2022.
