Ars Nova's Christmas Journey 2026
Ars Nova's Christmas concert takes you on a musical journey through ten European countries, featuring masterworks and traditional holiday songs.
Ars Nova Copenhagen is a Danish vocal ensemble founded in 1979 by composer and conductor Bo Holten. The group is internationally recognised for its interpretation of Renaissance polyphonic choral music alongside newly commissioned vocal works, and has toured more than 40 countries. Since 2024 the twelve singers have been led by French-Swedish conductor Sofi Jeannin, the first woman to hold the chief conductor post. Ars Nova has won a Grammy Award for its recording of David Lang's The Little Match Girl Passion.
The ensemble has several concerts in Copenhagen and on Zealand around Culture Night and in mid-October 2026.
Ars Nova gave a series of summer concerts in the churches on Fanø.
The ensemble released several new album recordings in 2025, including music by Michael Gordon and Huang Ruo.
In March 2025, the recording of Caroline Shaw's How to Fold the Wind was released, which Ars Nova had commissioned in 2020.
Sofi Jeannin was appointed as the new chief conductor of Ars Nova with immediate effect - the first woman in the position.
