Atomic Rooster are a British hard rock and progressive rock band formed in 1969 by keyboardist Vincent Crane and drummer Carl Palmer, both veterans of The Crazy World of Arthur Brown. They are best known for their Hammond-driven sound and two UK hit singles, "Tomorrow Night" (No. 11) and "Devil's Answer" (No. 4), both from 1971. Crane remained the band's driving force through constant lineup changes until his death in 1989. The band reformed in 2016 with permission from Crane's widow, and in October 2025 released "Circle the Sun" - their first studio album in 42 years.
Atomic Rooster released "Circle the Sun" on October 10, 2025 via Cherry Red Records - the band's first studio album since "Headline News" in 1983.
The album "Circle the Sun" was announced on July 28, 2025 and debuted live during the band's European summer tour.
Atomic Rooster announced a British tour in 2026 in support of the new album.
In November 2024, the band confirmed they were working on a new studio album - the first since 1983 - and announced performance dates for early 2025.
Lead singer Pete French left the band in 2023 to pursue other projects; guitarist Steve Bolton is now the only remaining member with a connection to the 1970s lineup.
