
Choir Friday: Ballerup Chamber Choir
Ballerup Chamber Choir performs at Nivaagaards Malerisamling as part of the Choir Friday event.
Ballerup Kammerkor is an ambitious amateur choir based in Skovlunde, Ballerup Municipality, with roots going back to 1936. The choir took on its current artistic profile in 1969 and has since built a repertoire spanning Renaissance madrigals, classical church music and contemporary choral works. It is conducted by Frederik Malmqvist, a concert pianist trained at the Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus who also holds an organist qualification from Sjællands Kirkemusikskole.
Korets website announces an upcoming concert in early 2027 with the title "Pearls from Classical Music".

The choir gave a concert at Vestkirken in Ballerup on 25 May 2025 with the programme "A Journey Through the History of Choral Music", which spanned from John Dowland and Händel to Mátyás Seiber.
