Cæcilie Norby celebrates her 60th birthday with a concert at Rotationen in Holbæk, presenting her new album SIXTY featuring funk, pop and soul.
Cæcilie Norby, born 9 September 1964 in Frederiksberg, Denmark, became the first Scandinavian vocalist signed to Blue Note Records in New York when she launched her solo career in 1995. Her parents are composer Erik Norby and opera singer Solveig Lumholt; she spent the 1980s in the rock bands Frontline and One-Two before turning to jazz. With close to half a million albums sold across Europe, Japan and the United States, she is widely regarded as one of the leading voices in European jazz and a key figure at the crossroads of jazz and pop.
Cæcilie Norby is in 2026 on 'Blue Note Days Tour' in Denmark with concerts in 17 cities, where she celebrates her four Blue Note albums from 1995-2002.
In 2025 Norby performed the ambitious concert work 'La Belle Époque' for sold-out halls in collaboration with Det Danske Underholdningsorkester and organizer Peter Jensen.
Norby performed on July 13, 2025 at Bremen Teater under Copenhagen Jazz Festival.
On the occasion of her 60th birthday, Cæcilie Norby released the album 'SIXTY' on her own label Loud Lady Music - a record that spans funk, pop and jazz.
