Chad Wackerman (born March 25, 1960, Long Beach, California) is an American jazz, jazz fusion and rock drummer best known for his seven years as Frank Zappa's touring drummer from 1981 to 1988, during which he appeared on 27 albums including the London Symphony Orchestra recordings. Beyond Zappa, he built a long creative partnership with guitarist Allan Holdsworth and has recorded or toured with Steve Vai, Andy Summers, James Taylor and many others, releasing four solo albums of his own. He continues to perform Zappa's music with Banned from Utopia.
