Elise Bjerkelund Reine is a Norwegian contortionist and performance artist working at the intersection of circus, dance and theatre. She created THE SHEDDING, a raw solo piece in which her own body serves as the primary artistic instrument. The work examines transformation and the sexualisation of the contortionist figure, questioning romanticised depictions of violence against women.
