Ella Mai is a British-American R&B singer-songwriter who broke through in 2018 with "Boo'd Up", a sleeper hit that peaked at number five on the Billboard Hot 100 and won the Grammy Award for Best R&B Song. Born in London and raised partly in New York, she was discovered by producer Mustard after posting music on social media. Her self-titled debut album has accumulated nearly six billion streams, and she has since released two further studio albums.
